Yay! It's October! My favorite month EVA! Know why? Because of Halloween, my birthday, Halloween, awesome new releases, and . . . now . . . the first time I get to do a TEASER! Yup. It's now only 85 days until the release of DESTINY'S FIRE, and I'm so excited to start giving you guys a little something each month during the giveaways from the book! Woot! And in OCTOBER! That just makes me all kinds of happy and shooting rainbows and unicorns. It's a bundle of goodness and cute babies. And of course, the countdown giveaway ;)

DESTINY'S FIRE TEASER:
I ran for my weapon but he grabbed my ankle, tumbling me on top of him. I straddled either side of him, anchoring him to the floor. “Looks like you lose this time, Jace.”
            I kept him pinned while reaching for my Charge Dagger. My fingertips grazed the bronze hilt, but Jace clutched my thighs, refusing to let me stretch far enough to grasp my weapon fully. With a grunt, he rolled on top of me, securing my arms to the cement floor.
“Why didn’t you go for it when you had me?” he asked, catching me off guard for a moment. I held my breath, staring into his blue eyes. Not blue like the color of water or sky, but electric blue—glowing. “You could of just snapped my neck, you know?” Jace let out an exasperated groan. “Tilt your head back. This time I’m going to teach you a lesson about losing focus.”

    My favorite thing about October is the way it smells. This is the time of year everyone starts burning leaves, and the smell is so nostalgic for me. Plus, all the harvest candles start coming out, and this spicy smell is another favorite fall scent of mine.

    Oh, and pumpkin lattes, pumpkin water ice, pumpkin ice cream...ahhh, it all starts coming back in October! (Which reminds me... I need to go get my Dunkin Donuts fix now!!)

  6. Awesome teaser can't wait to find out what the lesson is. Why do I love October? First I'm a Libra which makes October my birthday month. Which means I tend to have Halloween themed parties, that's always fun. Plus Halloween is one of my favorite holidays there are costumes and candy.

    My favorite thing about October? Hm... well, there's multiple things. My favorite is actually to do with autumn as a whole, but I love watching the leaves turn red, yellow, orange, and brown. I love watching them fall, too :)

  9. Nice teaser! And Happy Birthday. My daughter is a big Halloween fan too. Me - not so much. But that has more to do with being a teacher than the day. (8th graders and candy - not a good mix)

    -The cold crisp chill in the air is invigorating.
    -the leaves
    -the Halloween decorations everywhere.

  21. I love that it is a definite change in season. It doesn't get to hot and it doesn't get too cold. (I live in Utah so we have extreme weather changes.) I love to watch the leaves change and fall from the trees. I'm not too fond of raking them though. :0)

    And I would have to say that my favourite thing about October is the beginning of fall. I know that fall technically begins in September, but fall is when the leaves really start to change and you get the cooler weather PLus there's Halloween! :)

    October is great because it's the beginning of sweatshirt weather! I hate the cold but I love it when it's cool out and you can just throw on a sweatshirt and be ok. They're just so comfortable. They're my favorite article of clothing lol

  35. Besides the free candy, I love the cool weather. I can get overheated pretty quickly, and it doesn't help my school doesn't have AC throughout the whole building but it does have heating. So, when the cool weather comes around, i feel better.
